Renewable Energy from Biomass & Waste
Intervate develops, designs and delivers Advanced Thermal Conversion (ATC) systems, primarily based upon pyrolysis and gasification, to produce renewable power and heat using a very wide range of biomass and waste feedstock.
For clients increasingly faced with volatile energy prices and escalating waste disposal costs the advanced pyrolysis technology means significantly lower costs of energy and waste disposal, a displacement of fossil fuel usage, higher operating margins and a reduced carbon footprint.
The Intervate ATC systems are based on a new generation of gasification technology that exceeds the stringent environmental demands of the EU Waste Incineration Directive. Modular configurations, highly automated with a relatively small physical footprint means the advanced gasification systems are ideally suited for the installation of captive heat and power generation plants for industrial clients.
These advanced thermal conversion (ATC) systems can be built in modules to provide electricity generation from 200 kWe to 500 kWe and will process organic feedstock from 150kg per hour up to 500kg per hour.
Intervate's first UK installation has been commissioned at Yorkshire Water's Esholt Sewage Works.
June 11th, 2010 Intervate has been informed that photos of its Yorkshire Water unit, albeit in semi commissioned state, are being circulated amongst potential customers for ATC plant without our permission. Intervate has not provided authorisation to any third party to use images of its plant and equipment. Intervate would be interested to hear from customers approached in this manner. Any third party claiming knowledge of operational data or an ability to arrange access to the Esholt site is not to be believed. Intervate can be contacted for inspection visits through this website.
May 17th, 2010 Intervate has a vacancy for a Process Engineer to be based in Coventry.
March 15th, 2010 Intervate is pleased to announce that Julian Ackerley has joined the company as a Director. Julian brings over 20 years experience in the Hazardous Waste and Total Waste Management business. A chartered Chemical Engineer Julian with an MBA from Warwick Julian's roles encompass working at Biffa Waste Services as the General Manager responsible for Hazardous Waste operations and the establishment for Groupo Tradebe of their UK Waste Management business.
January 29th, 2010 Intervate is preparing to install the engine at the Esholt installation. The engine is an established service set and is the first one of its type to be imported into the UK and is designed specifically to run on low CV pyrogas.
