Intervate measures its GHG emissions using the PAS 2050:2008 standard. · Unit Resource consumption within the business is measured and targeted for year on year reductions of a minimum of 5%. · The key resource consumption areas within the business are:
- Biomass
- Sacrificial Process Electricity
-Natural gas
-Water
·To ensure compliant operation within the context our site permits and sector best practice. · To offset the carbon footprint of our business via schemes promoting carbon capture and new low energy technology’s within the developing world. · To oversee and review our environmental policy and all of our purchasing practices to achieve continuous improvement of the business environmental impact. · To report our progress annually to key stakeholders. · To set objectives, targets and programmes to improve our internal environmental performance, and the use of recognized environmental standards when selecting our suppliers. · To comply with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, identifying and applying the best available techniques wherever possible. · To provide information and appropriate training for and seek feedback from all employees on our environmental procedures and goals. · To regularly review and audit our environmental practices and work with partners to improve our performance and that of our industry generally. · To measure our progress in pursuing these objectives and report annually to our stakeholders.
